Our Education Committee focuses on projects raising awareness of adult and youth literacy and continuing education programs. Local Organizations that we support include: Lumpkin County Literacy Coalition, Lumpkin County Library, Nellie Young Award for Most Improved Reader , the Tallulah Falls School. Additionally, we provide several scholarships each year.
Dahlonega Woman’s Club Scholarship
The Club will awards up to three, $1,000 scholarships to the Lumpkin County High School Seniors who are planning on attending UNG in the fall. This scholarship is based on academics, need, as well as Community Service. Students interested in applying for these scholarships must complete the application as well as compose an essay demonstrating their community service activities. The essay should be at least 500 words long and give examples of at least three community based activities in which you have participated.
Interested students should contact their guidance counselor for additional information.
Additional Scholarship for Adult Student Initiated in 2012
The Dahlonega Woman's Club has adopted an additional scholarship for non-traditional adult students who are returning to or completing their education. The following criteria have been established in order to qualify for this scholarship.

- Recommendation from NOA, CHP, Literacy Coalition, Mountain School or similar organization
- Female resident of Lumpkin County
- Attending (or will attend) one of our local colleges or tech schools including:
- NGCSU (NGU)
- Lanier Tech
- Gainesville College
- North Georgia Tech
- Eligible for Freshman through 1st semester Senior
- Must have successfully completed course(s) with at least an 80% (B) grade to receive the $600 scholarship.
- Information regarding scholarship maybe obtained from recommending organization or through the Dahlonega Woman's Club Education committee.
